Challenge #42
I hope you all had a fine weekend and a wonderful Valentine's Day. For some of us, it is still the thick of winter and according to Punxsutwney Phil the warmth of spring is still a few weeks away. With the cold and snow, we often find ourselves staying in more, snuggling with our families in front of the fireplace. Talk about comforting! This week we'd like you to talk about comforts:
What brings you comfort? Is it an object, a person, a feeling, or something else?
So remember you have two weeks ladies to let us know how you get comfortable.

A bit about Dina:
Hi, I'm Dina Wakley, and I'm honored to be the guest designer this month! I live in the hot Arizona desert with husband of 18 years and my three sons, ages 13, 11, and 9. I started scrapping way back in 1995 when my first son was born! Since then I've journeyed into stamping, mixed media art & collage, and art journaling, as well. I love everything about art--looking at it, making it, teaching it, enjoying it. I design for Hambly Studios, Jenni Bowlin Studios, Kenner Road kit club, and {entreARTistes} magazine. I have been published in Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, {entreARTistes}, Somerset Memories, Artful Blogging, and Memory Makers. In my spare time I love to read good books, cook good food, and hang out with good friends. I'm a docent at the Phoenix Art Museum, so if you're ever in town please let me know and I'll give you a tour. :)
Thank you Dina for joining us this week and for inspiring us with your layout.

Art

Journaling (stream of consciousness):
There's something about art journaling, about the mere act of putting paint & words & ink down on paper that soothes me, comforts me, helps me give a voice to all my fears, gives a voice to my sadness., to the things that I keep inside & can't share with anyone, to the loneliness that pervades & that I have struggled with since I was a child, to the feelings of inadequacy and sometimes even just to the boredom of daily living.

Art is My Comfort
By Glenda
Journaling:
Sometimes I wonder what I ever did before I discovered scrapping and making stuff. No matter how bad my day is I can come into my scrap room and lose myself. My soul takes flight.

If I had to pick one thing that always gives me comfort, this would be it.

Just Us

Journaling:
Two years ago, I never thought I would say that a dog would bring me comfort. That was before you came into our lives. Now, there is nothing I look forward to more each day than to spend time w/ you.
